The 3rd edition, Summer School 2023, on “NLP Applications” organized by International Centre for Free and Open Source Solutions (ICFOSS) was held from 8th to 20th May 2023. The aim of the school was to improve the participation in FOSS communities as well as mould the individuals in the field of Natural Language Processing Applications. The Summer school encouraged the participants to come up with the best and brightest ideas in various areas of natural language processing applications. This program designed to empower technologists with industrial knowledge in the particular domain through hands-on training and workshops. The Summer School sessions were project-oriented, which means the content covers practical concepts with theoretical knowledge. As part of the Gender and Technology program, 50% of the targeted participants were women. This is the third installment of the program, and talks and workshops went hand in hand to deliver an immersive learning experience.
Participants
A total of 31 participants attended the school, which includes Research Scholars, Post Graduate Students and Faculty Members.
Event Outcome
The participants were very keen on presenting their project proposals and the best project from each groups won prizes. The event involved participants focussing on the academic and research development in the area of Natural language processing applications. The program was a great success.
